Editorial Guidelines How AI Balkans reports on artificial intelligence — with Balkan context, global relevance, and editorial independence. Submit a story About AI Balkans AI Balkans is an independent regional AI hub by AINOW Society. These guidelines explain how we choose, verify, label, and publish stories. Editorial mission We track AI across the Balkans, explain why it matters, and connect regional developments with the global conversation. Our priority is clarity and public value — not hype, political influence, or pay-to-play coverage. What we publish AI Balkans publishes news, research, explainers, guides, reports, interviews, and clearly labelled opinion on artificial intelligence across the Balkans. We cover startups, policy, education, tools, public-sector AI, industry adoption, infrastructure, research, regulation, and regional AI ecosystems. We also cover global AI when it has clear relevance for the Balkans. Pitches: Submit news. Content labels We clearly label different formats, including news, research, insights, opinion, sponsored content, partner content, and submitted stories. Opinion pieces reflect the views of the author. Sponsored and partner content are clearly marked and kept separate from editorial news coverage. Sources and verification We verify facts with identifiable sources. We prefer official documents, institutional announcements, research papers, company statements, named contacts, and reputable media sources. We avoid unverified rumour and say when information is incomplete. Contributors should provide links, documents, and context where possible. Use of AI tools We may use AI-assisted tools for research support, summarisation, translation, transcription, editing, headline suggestions, and image preparation. Editors remain accountable. No published text appears without human review, and we do not invent quotes, facts, sources, or documents with generative AI. Submitted content Submitted stories, tips, and announcements are reviewed by the AI Balkans editorial team. Submissions may be edited for clarity, accuracy, tone, length, relevance, and formatting. Submitting a story does not guarantee publication. Sponsored content Any sponsorship or paid placement is clearly labelled. Sponsors do not control news coverage, editorial decisions, headlines, or article conclusions. Commercial enquiries belong on Contact, not the news submission form. Conflicts of interest We disclose relevant ties where appropriate. Contributors should declare affiliations, funding relationships, institutional roles, or commercial interests when pitching. If AI Balkans covers AINOW Society, its partners, projects, or affiliated activities, the relationship will be disclosed where relevant. Regional balance AI Balkans aims to cover the region with fairness and context. We seek to include different countries, sectors, institutions, companies, researchers, civil society actors, and independent experts. Corrections Errors are corrected promptly and visibly. Report a mistake via Contact with the article URL, the issue, and supporting evidence. Editorial independence Editorial decisions rest with the AI Balkans desk. AINOW Society’s support does not dictate day-to-day coverage. Last updated: June 2026 Work with our desk Have a story idea? Submit news
