AI built for one specific job - excellent inside its lane, useless outside it. All AI in use today is narrow AI.

Narrow AI, also called weak AI, is a system trained for a specific task: recommending films, spotting fraud, transcribing speech, playing chess. It can be superhuman at that one thing and completely unable to do anything else.Every AI product you can use today is narrow AI - including chat assistants, which are extremely broad but still prediction systems with hard limits. The contrast is artificial general intelligence, a hypothetical system as flexible as a human mind, which does not exist.
