A precise set of steps a computer follows to solve a problem or complete a task.

An algorithm is simply a recipe for a computer: a defined sequence of steps that turns an input into an output. A cooking recipe, driving directions, and long division are all everyday algorithms.In AI, the word usually refers to the learning method used to train a model, or to systems that rank and recommend content - as in the social media algorithm decided what you see.
