Kosovo to Host AI & Tech Summit 2026 in Prishtina This September

Kosovo will host AI & Tech Summit 2026 in Prishtina on September 3 and 4, bringing together public institutions, universities, technology companies, startups and artificial intelligence experts for two days focused on AI, digital transformation and innovation. The event will take place at AAB College, which has been building institutional cooperation around the summit with several Kosovo government ministries in recent weeks. AAB says the programme is intended to connect academia, government and the technology industry around the growing use of artificial intelligence and digital technologies. An accompanying AI & Tech Expo is also planned, where companies, startups, universities and organisations are expected to present AI-based solutions and other emerging technologies. AI and digital government on the agenda The summit has gained a public-sector dimension through cooperation discussions between AAB and Kosovo's government. AAB Rector Blerim Olluri met Lulëzon Jagxhiu, Kosovo's Minister of Digitalization and Public Administration, on July 6 to discuss the organisation of the summit. Their discussions linked the event with digital transformation in public administration, electronic government services, artificial intelligence and technological innovation. Jagxhiu's position is also confirmed by Kosovo's government cabinet, which lists him as Minister of Digitalization and Public Administration. The involvement of the ministry gives the conference a practical policy angle. Governments across the region are increasingly being pushed to decide where AI belongs in public administration, which services could benefit from automation and what institutional safeguards will be required as those systems become more widely used. Education and AI skills also in focus AAB has also discussed cooperation on the summit with Hajrulla Çeku, Kosovo's Minister of Education and Science. A meeting between Çeku and Olluri on July 3 covered the possible co-organisation of the event, as well as the integration of artificial intelligence into higher education, development of digital skills and preparation of students for changes in the labour market. Kosovo government sources also identify Çeku as the country's Minister of Education and Science. According to AAB, the summit is expected to bring together universities, international AI experts, technology companies, public institutions, international organisations and startups. Discussions are expected to cover artificial intelligence, digital transformation, education, scientific research and innovation. AAB has also expanded cooperation around the event to Kosovo's Ministry of Industry, Entrepreneurship, Trade and Innovation, with the institution announcing further discussions on the summit on July 17. A wider AI conversation for Kosovo The event arrives as artificial intelligence moves beyond the technology sector and into government, universities and traditional industries across the Balkans. For Kosovo, that raises questions that extend beyond access to the latest generative AI tools. Universities face pressure to adapt courses and digital skills programmes. Public institutions must determine where AI can realistically improve services. Local companies and startups, meanwhile, are competing in a technology market increasingly shaped by AI platforms developed outside the region. Bringing those groups into the same event could give the summit relevance beyond a conventional technology conference. AAB describes its ambition as positioning Kosovo as a regional centre for dialogue around artificial intelligence, digital transformation and innovation. Whether the summit can contribute to that goal will depend on the partnerships, projects and initiatives that emerge after the conference rather than on the event itself. The AI & Tech Summit 2026 will take place at AAB College in Prishtina on September 3–4, alongside the planned AI & Tech Expo.
